Deposit & Cost

The first step in adopting your puppy is to fill out the puppy application!

Once the application has been received and approved. , we will contact you to place a $500 deposit to reserve a puppy. This deposit is non-refundable and is put towards the total price of your puppy. Once the litter arrives and we confirm puppies are thriving, we will make them available to reserve. After the deposit is made, we will send you a confirmation text or email. The balance is due upon pick-up or before the arranged transport date.

All puppies are available for limited AKC Registration for $4,000 with a spay/neuter contract. If desired, full AKC Registration with breeding rights is available for an additional $2000 fee. (Depending if the current litter will be availble with breeding rights)

We are dedicated to responsible breeding practices that help ensure our puppies are healthy, well cared for, and deeply loved from the start. Our goal is to raise puppies that are not only wonderful companions, but also known for excellent temperament, health, longevity, and genetics. In doing so, we hope to enrich the lives of the families who welcome our puppies home while also contributing to the betterment of the breed for future generations.

All of our Bernese Mountain Dog puppies come with AKC (American Kennel Club) registration. Our dams have also been tested through Royal Canin for genetic conditions associated with Bernese Mountain Dogs and are maintained in compliance with OFA standards.

All payments must be made in full before your puppy leaves our home or at the time of pickup. If we are shipping your puppy, full payment must be received in advance of transport. We accept Zelle, Cash, and Venmo.

​​We do genetic testing for all puppies. We test for DM SOD1A, DM SOD1B, and Von Willebrand disease. We will send the puppy home at 8 weeks of age and the puppy will be current on vaccinations, dewormed, and will have started potty training.

2) Shipping

When it is possible, we love for y’all to come to our home to see where your new puppy was born. We also like for families to meet your puppy’s beautiful Dam. Our Bernese Mountain Dogs are raised in our home with us. We do not use kennels.

Option 1:

You fly into Austin Bergstrom Airport in Austin, TX. We will meet you with your puppy, and you can carry them on to your return flight home. Please check with your airline for pricing and restrictions.

COST: No additional costs. You will pay for your own flight, plus any pet fees the airline requires.

Option 2:

We would be happy to be your puppy's personal flight nanny! We will meet you at the airport of your choice. We will take care of your puppy throughout the day as we fly to you and then hand them off to you at the airport.

COST: $700 fee, plus the cost of one roundtrip flight from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Option 3:

We will work with you to coordinate transport via a Pet Transport company for ground transportation to you from our door to yours.  

COST: Fee is determined by the chosen Pet Transporter and paid directly to them.

Guarantee

At the time you receive your puppy, you will be given the puppy’s AKC application for registration, health/vaccination records, microchip information, a take home information packet, and a small bag of puppy food and toy with the moms scent on it.

WARRANTY:

The puppy is sold with a 36 hour health guarantee. You must have your puppy seen by a Veterinarian within 36 hours. If the Veterinarian finds the puppy to be unhealthy, we will refund your money.

​New Owner Requirements

When you agree to purchase a puppy from Hill Country Berners, the owner agrees to the following:

  • If for any reason during the dog's lifetime, you need to find a new home for your Hill Country Berner, you will contact us first before rehoming the dog. We will be happy to take the puppy back. We do not refund the purchase price for the puppy.

AKC Registration

All of our puppies are AKC Registered. They will come home with a packet for you to fill out this information. We ask that you complete your new puppy's registration with the American Kennel Club as soon as you can.

Communication:

If you are not able to come and visit us to pick out your puppy, we will be happy to communicate through calls, texts, emails, or you can even visit with them over the phone via FaceTime, videos, and pictures of your new puppy!
