Deposit & Pricing

The first step in reserving a puppy from Hill Country Berners is to complete our puppy application. Once your application has been received and approved, we will contact you regarding placement of a $500 reservation deposit.

The $500 deposit is non-refundable but will be applied toward the total purchase price of your puppy. Once a litter has arrived and the puppies are confirmed to be thriving, families on our approved list will be invited to reserve a puppy. Once your deposit is received, we will send a receipt of your choosing, either by text or email.

The remaining balance is due at pickup or, if transportation has been arranged, before your puppy’s scheduled transport date.

Our Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are available with limited AKC registration for $4,000 and are sold with a spay/neuter agreement.

Full AKC registration with breeding rights may be available to approved homes for an additional $2,000, depending on the individual litter and breeder approval.

We accept cash, Zelle, and Venmo. All payments must be received in full before a puppy leaves our care.

Health & Puppy Care

We are committed to responsible breeding practices and to raising puppies that are healthy, well cared for, and deeply loved from the start. Our goal is to produce exceptional companions with sound temperament, health, longevity, and genetics while supporting the future of the Bernese Mountain Dog breed.

Our breeding dogs are carefully selected for health, structure, temperament, and pedigree. Our dams are tested for genetic conditions associated with Bernese Mountain Dogs and are maintained in accordance with applicable OFA health-testing standards.

The parents are genetically health tested for 267 conditions including von Willebrand disease. Each puppy goes home at eight weeks of age, current on age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, with early potty-training foundations already started.

Transportation Options

Whenever possible, we would love for all families to visit our home in Dripping Springs, Texas, and see the loving home environment where our dogs are raised. Our Bernese Mountain Dogs live in our home with us—we do not use kennel facilities.

Option 1: Airport Pickup

You may fly into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, where we can meet you with your puppy. You may then travel home with your puppy in the cabin, subject to your airline’s pet policies.

Cost: No additional fee from Hill Country Berners. Families are responsible for their own airfare and any airline pet fees.

Option 2: Flight Nanny Service

We would love to personally accompany your puppy by air and meet you at an airport of your choice. Your puppy will travel with us and be cared for throughout the journey until they are safely placed in your arms.

Cost: $700, plus the cost of one round-trip flight from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Option 3: Ground Transportation

We can help coordinate door-to-door ground transportation through a professional pet transport company.

Cost: Determined by the selected transporter and paid directly to that company.

Health Guarantee & Take-Home Package

At pickup or delivery, you will receive your puppy’s AKC registration paperwork, sales agreement, health and vaccination records, microchip information, take-home information packet, a small bag of puppy food, and a toy with the mother’s scent.

Each puppy is sold with a 36-hour health guarantee. We require that your puppy be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 36 hours of going home. If your veterinarian identifies a qualifying health concern, please notify us immediately and provide written veterinary documentation within the 36-hour guarantee period. If the concern is covered under our health guarantee, a refund will be issued in accordance with the terms of our purchase agreement.

New Owner Commitment

We consider every Hill Country Berner a lifelong member of our extended family. If, at any point during your dog’s lifetime, you are unable to keep or care for your dog, you agree to contact us before rehoming them. We will gladly assist and will always take a Hill Country Berner back when needed. Please note that surrendering or returning a dog does not include a refund of the original purchase price.

Communication & Updates

For families who cannot visit in person, we are happy to stay connected through phone calls, text messages, emails, FaceTime, photos, and videos. We want every family to feel involved and confident throughout the process of welcoming their new puppy home.
